WHY CLIO? We have received questions from members about the name of this newsletter. Clio was the Muse of History who served as a source of inspiration to poets, dramatists and authors, such as Homer, in Ancient Greece. She is sometimes referred to as the “Proclaimer” and is depicted with an open scroll of parchment or a stack of tablets as her name literally means “to recount” or “to make famous.” It is in her capacity as a proclaimer and glorifier of history that we hope to emulate Clio.
